This painting was inspired by leaves in my garden back-lit by the late summer, early fall glowing sunbeams. I've named it "The Garden's Upper Story", because garden beauty can often be seen by looking up, as well is looking down. I've painted the foreground in strong detail, and the background in soft and luminous sumi-e style strokes.
