Peacock
Watercolor
24" x 18"
This painting of a majestic peacock perched high above a lush garden is one I have been working on for some time, and finished recently. It involves a lot of "negative" painting whereby elements are brought forward and realized by paint applied around them.
Jurists, Jeffrey De Blois, Assistant Curator, ICA Boston, and Rebecca Lowery, Assistant Curator, MOCA Los Angeles, have chosen this piece to be included in an upcoming exhibition, "Bird, Nest, Nature," to be held at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, CA.
This in-person exhibition has been delayed due to ongoing lock-downs of art galleries in Contra Costa County, California. However, a virtual tour has been created by the Bedford Gallery so that the whole show can be seen, at least on screen, until the exhibit can open.
